Remembering my Dad

It is 2 years today since my wonderful Dad passed away. I remember and think of him every day. I remember his smile, his laugh and his stories. You are so very loved Dad and missed every moment. In Loving Memory John M. Beginnes September 6, 1922 - May 20, 2010

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there! I hope you have a great "special" day! This year I am doing a Mother's Day weekend show at Byers' Choice in Chalfont, Pennsylvania. I have had several shows this month and have enjoyed them all. I met so many great people and all the quilts on display were awesome. I never tire of seeing what creative beauties will be on display. I am still waiting for the warm weather. Here it is May and still cold and chilly. The weather was warmer in March! Despite the chill nature has given way to the beautiful blossoming trees and many beautiful flowers. Once the weather warms I am planning on doing some watercolor painting trips. There are several covered bridges nearby and I have wanted to paint them in a watercolor setting for quite a while now. I just got several new tubes of paint! Always fun to see what they will do!! Enjoy the beautiful month of May and Mother's Day!

Oh Beautiful Day!!!!!

A taste of summer!!! My windows are open and the fresh breezes of summer are wifting through...of course the calendar says Spring but Mother Nature is smiling on us with temps of 86 degrees. I can hardly wait until the warm days are here! I finally put my snow shovel away this weekend. Pretty safe to say that is no longer a threat! I was at my Mom's today and curling around her front porch was poison ivy...a real threat for me!! The only down fall to summer is that and stink bugs...LOL!!
Mom and I went carpet shopping at Home Depot. She has said for many years I need new carpeting so today was the day!! She picked out a lovely brown...which will look great in her home.
I am enjoying my lovely dogwood trees all in bloom! Mother's Day is right around the corner and even more consistent warmer weather! Enjoy!!!

HAPPY EASTER!

The sun is shining, the dogwoods are starting to bloom and the spring bulbs, daffodils, hyacinths and tulips are up and smiling...it must be Easter. It is hard to believe that Easter is here. Winter always seems too long and then we are treated to the wonders of Spring. I love watching all the songbirds return to my yard. Today I watched a male cardinal take seed to his mate from my feeder. It looked like he was giving her a kiss! The sweetness of nature!! I am going to my Mom's for Easter dinner and it is always fun to see her and taste all the wonderful traditional Easter goodies she still makes every year. Tonite I dye my contribution..hard boiled eggs!
On a sad note yesterday we lost a talented artist, Thomas Kinkade. He was only 54and brought to the world peace and beauty through his art. His art will live on forever.
I wish for everyone a very Happy Easter and a beautiful Spring!

Home from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!

I had a great time in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! It was great to see all of you at"A Mountain Quiltfest 2012". I enjoyed the show and enjoyed the town of Pigeon Forge at night. My hotel overlooked a river so after all day of talking I would spend hours on my little balcony and watch the river go by. Watching water sure is peaceful! I spent some time too looking at cowboy boots and hats in the many stores downtown.
After the show ended I went to Kentucky to see my sister Linda and brother-in-law Ray. They live on 96 beautiful acres. They have a goat farm and while I was there baby goats were being born!! We had an awesome thunderstorm one night and wonderful warm temps of 85 degrees!! Ray cooked wonderful meals every day and it was the perfect rest after a week of showing my art.
Today I set up my next show in Warminster, Pennsylvania. Spring is bursting with color. Daffodils, hyacinths, crocus, and even a few tulips are signs that welcome warm days are ahead!

Waiting for Spring!

My Birthday and Valentine's Day have come and gone. It was so much fun! Now I eagerly await Spring and all the wonderful flowers and blossoms it will bring. I especially long for warmer days. We have had a very mild winter here in Pennsylvania. Snowfall has been at a record low, especially compared to last year when my snow shovel was not put away until May!!
I leave for my first show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on March 11. It is always a great show and Spring will be arriving there already. One of my favorite holidays too, St Patrick's Day! Wearin' of the Green and fun-filled Irish celtic dances! Of course done country style!!

Happy Birthday!!

I awoke to a beautiful snowy morning full of sunshine and beauty! A great way to begin my Birthday! Last night I was surprised with a wonderful Party at my favorite hangout, when not at the quilt shows with all of you! Of course!!! I country line dance and through the years have made so many great friends. Each week we spend several hours dancing and having fun. Last night I was treated to my first Birthday Party ever!! What a joy it was! I am so blessed with my friends in life. One thing comes with age the joy of the friendships we make through this journey. I must admit getting older is hard but when we can talk, dance, laugh with one another life can be the very best!! Thank you my wonderful friends! Thank you to my wonderful Mom and Dad too for without you I would not be celebrating this special day!!!
