Happy New Year 2019!

The holiday season went so fast.  I spent all of December painting my new Christmas painting.  I always enjoy my time in my studio especially at Christmas, listening to Christmas carols as I paint!
I enjoy my annual outings including walks through the winter woods.  This year I spent a Saturday walking in downtown Bethlehem, PA seeing all the decorations and luminary night of candles.
My favorite covered bridge that shows up in so many of my paintings was covered with beautiful white lights both inside and out.
Christmas day was spent with family and reminiscing and missing our wonderful Mom and Dad.  They always made our Christmas so special.
  Wishing you a Happy 2019!!

Welcome December!

I love the month of December.  I always look forward to this festive month.  I enjoy the Christmas decorations, lights, candles and watching the Christmas Hallmark Movies in the evening.  I love the early darkness of the cold winter nights.
It is the month to enjoy all the Christmas season has to offer.  I am inspired to paint Christmas snow scenes and every year do a new Christmas painting.
I am sad also when I think of my loved ones that are gone.  I especially miss my Mom and Dad.  I remember all the wonderful Christmas memories we made together.
Enjoy the season with family and friends!

November!

We are already in to the month of November.  I have had several shows and am getting Christmas card orders out to my customers.  I always love this time of year the best.  The Holiday Season of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and welcoming in another New Year!
I look forward to painting more in my studio once my shows are over until March 2019!

Back from the shore!

I went to Ocean City, New Jersey for the week.  I so very much love the ocean and the peace it gives me.  I love walking the beach and boardwalk.  Every morning I get up to watch the sunrise.  It is wonderful to see the sun peek over the horizon.

The Ocean has always been my "go to" place when I need to find peace and joy in my life.  It has inspired paintings, seen me through heartache and given me comfort each day I watch the surf, seagulls and many shore birds.

I am sharing some photos from some of my times at the shore. Enjoy!

Happy October!

Enjoy the month of October!  Leaves are starting to change color to beautiful orange, yellow, red and crimson.  I see pumpkins orange in the fields with seasonal offerings of apple cider and pumpkin inspired food and drink. My favorite month with the perfect ending of Halloween!!

Happy Autumn!

It is hard to believe that the Summer is over.  It went so fast.  Autumn is my favorite season because of the breath-taking trees showing colors of gold, red, bronze, orange and yellow.  I love seeing the pumpkins in the fields and apples ripened on the trees.
I have several Autumn shows that I enjoy being at every year!  Check out my schedule on my website at www.dianephalen.com
I would love to visit with you!

Remembering Mom

In addition to my show information I like to include personal happenings in my life on my blog.  I have been grieving the loss of my wonderful Mom this past year.  On August 5, she has been physically gone from my life for one year.

Mom

I miss her every day and her memories surround me.  I was so blessed by her kindness and love she always gave me.  She always said how proud she was of her daughters, Diane, Linda, Mary and Anne.  I was very proud of her and all the wonderful memories she gave me all my life.  I love you sweet Mom , always and forever.
